Offers a safe and secure environment for older adults in need of supervision or assistance with the activities of daily living while family caregivers are working or attending to other responsiblities. In 2006, Catholic Charities of Stark County provided 239 individuals with expert health services combined with social and therapeutic activities that increase their cognitive and interpersonal communication skills.  ADS also provides caregivers the oppotunity to complete everyday responsiblities.

Case Management

Provides in-home assessments and development of an individual care plan with the client to address items of concern.

Guardianship

Offers services for frail elderly and mentally disabled adults who are deemed incompetent by the probate court and provides them with caring advocates and surrogate decision-makers when no less restrictive alternative to guardianship is available.

Representative Payeeship

Provides management of Social Security benefits through individualized service plans for adults who suffer from mental or developmental disabilities and ensures that their basic living expenses are prioritized and paid.

Senior Multi-Purpose Center

Provides in-home and on-site hot meals, senior center.jpgtransportation services, chore services and provides socialization opportunities and activities for older adults living in Columbiana County.  This location delivered/provided 17,534 meals last year with the assistance of 20 volunteers.  In addition, clients participating in this program recieved assistance with chores, medical assessments, telephone reassurance and attended a variety of socialization events.

Senior Support Program

This program is available to varying degrees in each county services by the Diocese of Youngstown.  The Catholic Charities agencies were able to assist more than 700 elderly and disabled persons with such activities as grocery shopping, banking, and medical appointments, by providing transportation.  Clients also receive referrals to community resources, coordination of friendly visitations and assistance completeing Medicare/Medicaid forms.  Additionally, the Senior Support Program provides prescription/medication assistance to those who qualify.
